I did it! I made the switch from Adobe to Affinity

I cut the cord. I was tired of being squeezed for every goddamn subscription in our daily lives, that I decided to look for some kind of alternative to expensive-ass Adobe. Don't get me wrong, Adobe is amazing and is still the industry-standard, but I've been thinking about making the switch to video in my freelance career anyway.
I've only lightly messed around a little with all three Affinity software apps, (the equivalent to Photoshop, Illustrator and inDesign) but so far these are the real deal. No, none of them are nearly as robust as Adobe’s, there’s still a bit of a learning curve with Affinity, and you have to re-learn many hotkeys, but all the main tools are familiar and present. Affinity Photo (the Photoshop equivalent) has all the layer tools, the masks, the adjustment layers…it’s surprisingly complete.
One of these weekends I’m gonna try and learn all the hotkeys. There’s a 30 day trial for all of Affinity's products. I don’t recommend for someone like you to switch over if your company already pays for Adobe, but for someone like me who freelances, this is a really nice alternative. I’ve read online that these apps are “buggy”, I haven’t messed around with them enough to see much. But it all looks pretty promising. If Adobe is a 10, I’d rate Affinity’s a very strong 6.5 so far. I'm sure this number will go up as I get more familiar with the tools.
